I’m still trying to track down the original designer of these amazing shoes, but just like today, nameless designers work under a large brand that gets all the recognition.
These are from the 1940s, people. 1940s! And manufactuered by Shaftesbury Shoes Ltd. These look pretty innovative now; can you imagine how exciting they were in the 40s? Platform pellets of color. A sexy heel and peep toe.
Fantastic.
The proportions are all wrong. That’s why it’s genius. I can’t imagine these are very easy to walk in though…. Anyone worn them and can comment?

Iris van Herpen and United Nude have created another visceral experience in a shoe. The torn up platform that seems to have been wounded by the harsh sidewalk. The white jungle of peeling leather up the heel and vamp….
Angles And hard black lines. Geometry and the. Curves of the foot. This one is just a beautiful specimen and it holds my interest.
